Are Blog Meant for Raves and Rants?

Blogging is the latest internet craze and it may turn out to be just that and killed off if the avalanche of misinformation continues. One is amazed at how an excellent online medium is promoted for all the wrong reasons.

Now here are some strange concepts promoted about blogs.

'?blog on about the sex life of the Tasmanian fruit fly and still reap big rewards' (I would certainly like to know if anyone can tell me)

"Turn Your Personal Opinions, Rants And Raves Into New Subscribers?"

There are hundreds of articles on blogging, promoting a concept of raving and ranting on web space by anyone who wants to have the voyeuristic pleasure of making their maniacal moaning public. What is the purpose of promoting such a concept is something beyond the comprehension of any intelligent person.

Blogs undoubtedly remain the best innovation since the beginnings of internet, putting a web page within the reach of an average person, who has no technical knowledge of web page creation. Anyone can easily create a web page on a pre-designed template by just typing out information which they want to share.

Every individual has something valuable to say in his or her sphere of activity or expertise. Every individual has interesting opinions about life, society, politics, economics, business or anything else which you feel strongly about. Blogs or web log is a journal where you can record your views and opinions and make it available to other people who are interested in the subject.

The key is sharing 'Valuable' comments and insights on a subject matter if you want to run a public web log. Somehow the concept got promoted that you can put any kind of incomprehensible ravings on a blog and the result, millions of blogs out there which has nothing much to say except meaningless chatter.

Just imagine your personal diary filled with page after page of meaningless scribbling. Someone reading them in the distant future will throw it out with disgust. On the other hand if you have made insightful comments on issues and daily happenings, it will be read with interest and referred regularly for your views. That's how a blog works.

Make it personal by all means as in a diary. Let there be emotion but with information. If you want to simply rave and rant you are better off getting admitted and doing that in a nut house than on a web page. No one is going to read them in any case. You will at least save the clutter on the web sphere.
